Spring Fever

SPRING BREAK 2008!
"Im gonna get your motor started!"
This spring break was beginning with some volunteer work. My sorortiy, Kappa Delta hosts a 5K fun run every year to help prevent child abuse america. 80% of the money goes to prevent child abuse american nationally, and the other 20% goes to our own local community Hattiesburg. We were out ready to help everyone through at 6 o'clock in the morning. Almost way too early for me to function. and not to mention FREEZINGGGGG. I had so many layers on to help me but nothing seemed to work. oh and did you know starbucks isnt open until seven?! yeah we didnt. But the run was a big sucess and all together we raised 25,000 dollars. All which is going to abused children, there is nothing that makes you feel better than knowing you made a difference in someone's life.

DESTIN CITY BOUND!
Right after that Meghan, Kristen, and I were Destin bound! Meghan was in charge of the whole spring break and getting the house together (the money, grocerys, all the boring stuff) so she had to get there first. We arrived at the house and it was perfect. Keep in mind that there is 21 girls living in this house for a week. Talk about loud. but everything worked out. People began to show up and everyone got settled. We all knew that tomorrow was going to be an amazing day at the beach. We went to the beach and layed out and just enjoyed the Florida sun. I got to enjoy this whole trip with my phenomenal pledge class, minus like 5 girls. plus one who is not greek but absolutely amazing miss paige price. but this made us so close and Im pretty sure we had way to many heart to hearts...but thats what best friends do.. We met up with some friends and just hung out. Our house was at a great convience, it was in between two of the houses we wanted to visit all the time. Everyday was the same, meet up with these people, drink, sleep, go out at night.

FUN never FADES!

After a day at the beach we always seemed to go to the hott tub and that drained everything out of me every afternoon. But we kept doing it. truck bed full of people we were good to go! Even though everything was becoming routine, We did catch some rain one day... boo...So what does everyone do when it rains in Destin?...they go shopping. Everyone and their momma was at the malls. Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Troy were all on spring break the same time as us. So everywhere we went there were frattastic people bombarding the stores. I didnt even walk into polo, it was obnoxious and that was something I did nottttt feel like dealing with.

Our older girls, or the pledge class above us (sophomores) had a house near Pelican Beach Resort. Which was really far from us. WE stayed in crystal beach and they were practically by the Holiday Inn. Anyway besides that they decided to throw a house party. And it was SOOO much fun. Every person from Southern and was there. Talk about amazing. but on a negative note the cops did come like 4 times, but nothing ever happened. Except the next day Meghan and I get phone calls at nine in the morning asking us if her aunt could act like their gaurdian. Apparently their house owner came to their door step with evection papers, and told them if their adult was not there in an hour they would have to leave. Our adult was in pensecola taking some class so we could not help them. They were down to the point of paying someone fifty dollars to act like their adult. Luckily they ran into someone they knew and she signed for them, Because thats what we do! so they got out of it but definitely got a nice scare.

THE FINAL ENDING

Overall there were some amazing memories made, and its something I will never forget. These girls are a special part of my life and we have a sisterhood that no one can break.
AOT
without these girls I would not be the same person that I am today and I thank God every day that they bless me with their love honesty and truth.
