4 square!

I live in 4 square with 4 of the hottest, loudest roomates ever! I am supposed to be living in the dorms, but you see...that just wasnt working out for me. I loved being close to my pledge class and my friends, but I simply did not have enough room in there. I have huge projects that are due every monday wednesday and friday and I had NO space to get these done. I would be up at 4 in the morning doing my projects in the hall of the fifth floor. It was nothing against my roomate, I just couldnt live there anymore. So I packed everything I needed and moved in with my sister. We share a room, but it is TEN TIMES BETTER THAN THE DORMS. I have the living room to work on my projects and so much more space. plus living with my sister has brought us closer together. you would think we would get on each others nerves but oddly, we are closer than we ever have been. Oh and this was just last night when she should have been studying for her art exam..drunk and passed out. lovely right?...hahaha

DERBY DAYS!

KayDee at USM won SIGMA CHI'S DERBY DAYS 2008!

We all worked our butts of and came out on top! I painted the banner which gave us 500 points to start off the competition right!..The theme of derby was tv or movies..so our theme was "surfing the channels with SigmaChi" We danced to The Nanny, Ghostbusters, Happydays, Jeopardy, Saved By the Bell, The Brady Bunch Cops and Baywatch! This is just another philanthrophy that kd can add to our list of wins. Everyone loves to go all out for other sorority.fraternities philanthrophic events. and it makes them ten time more fun to attend. I love everything about Greek life, and so glad it is a part of my life.

Kappa Delta, SIMPLY THE BEST!

I am member of the sorority Kappa Delta. This is something I put so much time into, but I love it. Kappa Delta at Southern Miss is amazing. There girls are people who I know I will never forget. They do anything they can for me and anyone who needs help. People may say being in a sorority is "paying for your friends"...but these girls are worth every penny! KayDee is a part of me and I would not be the same without it. TA KALA DIOKOMEN="let us strive for that which is honorable, beautiful, and highest!" I have grown so much already, and I cannot wait to keep growing with these girls for the rest of my LIFE!... We all share a bond in AOT, and its something that you will never be able to break. I love these girls with every inch of my body, and without one of them..im not the same. "from the outside looking in you could never understand it, from the inside looking out you could never describe it."-KD... Its something that I cannot really put into words but it plays a huge role in my life. KayDee's shamrock week is a week full of events like (the late night pancake breakfast "cakes for kids", Beauty Review, AND 5k Fun run) through these gatherings we are raising money for one of our 5 philanthrophys...Prevent Child Abuse America. KD at southern miss raised 27,000! All benefits proceed to PCAA... 20% goes to our local community in hattiesburg, and the other 80% goes to prevent child abuse america and children all over the world. Kappa Delta just keeps getting better and that will never change. "We're the the best of all the rest..GREEN and WHITE NOTHING LESS!"

Toby

Toby is my dog. Toby is around 2 years old. He is a teacup poodle, but dont be confused...he doesnt look like one. We dont like the poodle cut, so he looks more like a teddy bear. Which is why I got hime. My friend Grace had the same type dog in her hands at practice one day and it moved and I. freaked out because thought it was fake, but I was totally wrong. Toby's fur is a red color, but as he is getting older he is greying on top. more like whiteing?..if thats possible?..

toby is not a normal dog, he is like a real person. he likes to talk to us and whine with little dog noises. I swear if you met him you would agree. He is very nice and likes to cuddle next to your leg. he is only 4.5 pounds and proud of it! He is a chill dog, but does like to be hyper. he can play fetch but growls at you when he brings the toy back..hes jealous. haha toby has a lsu outfit which consists of (a lsu jearsey, football pants and a ball) a cheerleader outfit. a Kaydee jersey. and a padres jersey! Go SD! if you havent met toby....you are missing out...

My Second Home

I finally get to go visit what I consider my second home this summer. San Diego is a place that has my heart. I lived there last summer, and had the TIME OF MY LIFE. San Diego is an amazing place to be or live. At first I lived in La Jolla for a good 6 weeks, then we moved to the young area of P.B. (pacific beach) My apartment was only ten blocks from the beautiful shore. I loved to walk down to the beach, and just chill for the day. In my spare time I would surf, play beach volleyball/football/frisbee/smashball (its uhhhmazing!)



I also liked to go shopping in the amazing fashion valley. (nordstrom, neimans, anything youcould imagine) was in there. it was heaven, and I dont even like to shop. My favorite place in San Diego to visit for the day is the La Jolla cove. Its not really something I can describe into words, but its absolutely beautiful. There is grass right beside the beach, and cool trees that are drawin in dr suess books (he was from la jolla) my favorite resturaunt tha dev worked at called "Fresh[er]" The people who worked there were amazing.

John David

Meeting new people is one thing I do enjoy, but nothing beats flashing back with a friend from the past. My friend John David from Baton Rouge was stationed in San Diego the same time I was living there. John David was a Marine and lived at Camp Pendleton. Like me, in the beginning he was not able to see how amazing California really was. He was constantly on call or having to put in a report for something, so he barely had any free time. He saw San Diego as the place he worked. Despite his horrible schedule that never seemed to work out with our plans, I was determined to show him California the way I saw it, through my own eyes. We visited shops, zoos, beaches, restaurants and galleries together. Those places turned out to be some of our favorite places to visit. John David and I ventured off all over San Diego. Every day I started to love everything about the city a little bit more. How could I not love perfect weather without a cloud in the sky? If we walked down the street, there was always someone smiling at us, and smiles are very contagious. Together we both found a deep passion for the place and the people.

PART TWO

John David is an amazing guy that has changed my life in so many ways. He is a marine and probably the strongest person I know. Emotionally and physically. He is coming back from being over seas for almost a year this summer. Hopefully he can tell me all about his new adventures and things he has been going through. you see, we did everything together, and we were inceperable. So whatever I felt, he felt. and whatever we learned we learned together...so being seprated by miles seperated our relationship drastically. but he is still a person who helped me become who I am today and without our advertures and get aways I dont think I would be the same. He changed me in a great way, and I have him to thank everyday. Being away from someone for so long can be hard but im hoping it will all just go back to normal and we can continue our amazing friendship. He gets of the ship in Hawaii and his dad is going to be there to meet him. how fabulous is that?HAWAII?! im very jealous haha. then he is flying into SD then possibly going back to baton rouge. Cant wait to see him :)

WINDANSEA

another favorite place of mine is Windansea beach. Say it really fast... its wind and sea...get it?!
haha... the picture above is at windandsea beach. Its absolutely BEAUTIFUL THERE. It is one of my favorite beachs to visit. But parking is a sport there..as you can kinda see below. Thats the road down to Windansea.
Its filled with huge rocks and bolders all over the shoreline that are covered in moss. Its un real how beautiful it is. The water hits the rocks and creates a mist and it can be kind of eerie looking sometimes, but it beautiful. Windansea is not good for surfing or boogie boarding but we found it still fun to try. Dev liked to get smashed in the sand when the current would just take him under. but its a feeling of relief when you finally try it.


The water splash over the rocks, and you get soaked. but its still fun!

Windandsea is nomrally a low key beach, and not a lot of people really go there during the day. so it was our perfect getaway when we wanted to get away from the crowd of P.B.

Music

Think about how much good music you've heard in your life, now think about all of the music that is out there that you will never hear. Think about all of the live shows you'll never get to see. All of the great jam sessions that go unrecorded in this world every day. Lyrics you've never even thought of, guitar riffs you cant even imagine, beats you cant even think about. Think about all of the music made before you were born that you havent discovered, or that went un-recorded and un-released. All of the artists out there that are un-discovered and un-signed. Just think about that and realize if you have an open mind, you probably can't name a favorite.

Working hard?...or hardly working?..

This is a picture from my tuesday.thursday classes.  from 2:25-5:00 I am drawing.  This is our ten minute break.  We are all just soaking up the sun.  Its boring being in that room for so long staring at the same person drawing the same things.  But we love it.  Being and art major is  a lot of fun, but its totally different from other classes.  Me, Rachel, Sirena, and Laura all love Ping's class.  Ping is a vietnamese man, who teaches us drawing II.  He is absolutely amazing, and is very helpful.  We act like we hate his class, but we really love everything about it.
